China’s aggression at the Line Of Actual Control is a part of its ongoing expansionist strategy and India, its neighbouring countries and the world needs to be very careful says the elected leader of the Tibetan Government in Exile . Speaking to senior independent journalist Smita Sharma from Dharamshala , Dr. Lobsang Sangay, President of the CTA (Central Tibetan Administration) cautioned that India’s neighbours like Nepal need to learn from Tibet’s experience of betrayal by China.
He suggested that it is the Chinese government tactic to encroach upon territories where the can, concede some ground when pushed back and yet emerge with territorial gains. He added that China also co-opts elites in countries along with military intervention.According to Dr. Sangay, unless Tibet is turned into a buffer zone between India -China , violence and flare ups across the LAC will continue. He remarked that Taiwan itself is asking for a revision of the One China Policy and India must consider it. Asked about the Arunachal CM’s recent reference to ‘India- Tibet Border’, Dr. Sangay explained that the Indo-China border is only 60 years old compared to the Indo-Tibetan border which is 1000s of years old.
